Humidifier water tap water is provided by tapping into an existing cold water supply line close to the humidifier often with a device known as a saddle valve.

																	Humidifier water line hook up.

Remove the cover and water pad from the humidifier and place the casing into the cutout on the duct.
I noticed the water line for the humidifier taps a hot water and not a cold line.
This aprilaire unit requires 6 screws.
I know in many states the use of a saddle valve is now against code.

All humidifiers require a connection to an existing cold water line.
This results in a trickle of hot water running through the unit and out the drain on the bottom whenever it s on.
I needed to replace the crumbling humidifier pad on the aprilaire unit bolted to our new ng furnace.
Using 1 long sheet metal screws mount the casing to the duct by running screws through the provided holes in the casing.

This was a surprise to me.
That little nub cap on the valve is a drain port for draining the water out of the line when servicing it.
Depending on where that line is in relation to your furnace you may need to add a new line to the humidifier.
																	That needs to stay removable.
